Fair Housing Compliance Took Kit for HB Industry

The National Association of Home Builders has created the "Fair Housing Accessibility Compliance Tool Kit," essential guidance for multifamily builders, architects, engineers, building owners and state/local governmental jurisdictions for complying with the multifamily accessibility requirements of the Fair Housing Amendments Act.

The Fair Housing Accessibility Compliance Tool Kit includes: Key information on Fair Housing accessibility and the federal construction requirements; detailed "Questions & Answers" feature; International Code Council's code requirements for housing accessibility - the "safe harbor code"; the federal Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines; code adoption assistance; additional accessibility information resources.

For additional information about obtaining the "Fair Housing Accessibility Compliance Tool Kit," call NAHB's Multifamily Division at 800-368-5242, Ext. 821.

NAHB worked with HUD to develop the "Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse" for local government officials and builders to air their concerns about regulatory impediments to home building. To use the service, visit the Web site, www.huduser.org/rbc.
