SNHBA Installs 2018 Board of Directors, Officers
The association installed its 2018 slate of officers and directors during the annual Installation and Awards Luncheon, sponsored by CAMCO, on December 7at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Effective Jan. 1, Kent Lay, division president of Woodside Homes of Nevada, is president of the 450-plus member trade group; Janet Love of StoryBook Homes is 1st vice president; Brian Walsh of Richmond American Homes is 2nd vice president; Darren Wilson of Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating is associate vice president; Tom Warden of The Howard Hughes Corp., is treasurer; and Scott Donnelly of Cooper Roofing and Solar is secretary.
SNHBA Supports Shooting Victims’ Fund
The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association on Tuesday contributed $10,000 to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund at GoFundMe.com, a fund established on October 2 by Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak and Sheriff Joe Lombardo to provide relief and support for the victims of the mass shooting on October 1 on the Las Vegas Strip.
“The association wants to assist our community with efforts to serve the needs of those impacted by this horrific event, ” said SNHBA Executive Director Nat Hodgson. “We hope it’s a comfort knowing that thousands of people care about them.”
Proceeds from the association’s Oktoberfest Membership Networking Mixer, hosted by the Landwell Co., the evening of October 19 at the Cadence master-planned community, will be allocated for the community relief effort, Hodgson said.”We have heard from our members who want to know what they can do to help and how they can get involved. We believe the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund is a good way to help and get involved.”
2018 Board of Directors Election
The election for the members of the board of directors next year is underway. Members have until October 4 to cast their votes via the online ballot that was emailed to them on September 20. The results of the election will be announced at the SNHBA “Oktoberfest” Membership Networking Mixer, hosted by the Landwell Co./Cadence, set for October 19 at the Cadence master-planned community in Henderson. SNHBA Staff Changes
The association has announced that longtime staffer Monica Caruso is retiring from her duties as public affairs director at the end of the year. Matt Walker has been promoted to vice president of government and community relations. Amanda Moss is now government affairs director. Click here to read the full announcement.
